Going on a desert safari Dubai: which excursion to choose?
Are you going on a trip to Dubai and want to go on a desert safari? Excellent idea! To help you choose from the different options available, I have selected the best desert tours in Dubai. Whether you want to do the classic 4*4 safari, the sporty version in a quad or buggy, or even spend the night in a Bedouin camp, I have what you need! So what are the best desert tours in Dubai?
Is excursion
mandatory or not to do a desert safari Dubai?
I do not recommend traveling to the Desert Safari
Dubai desert by rental car. Even assuming that you have rented a 4x4 (the type
of vehicle essential for traveling in the desert), you will have to deflate the
tires before entering the desert area. Add to that, driving in the sand is
complicated, and if you have no experience, you risk getting stuck in the dunes
after 50 meters.
And for the more daredevils who
would not be bothered by these inconveniences, also know that it is tough to
find your way around and that there is, therefore, a significant risk of
getting lost! That's why, if you want to visit the desert in Dubai, the best
solution is to go on an organized excursion!
The best desert
safari Dubai tours:
I present to you now my selection of
the most beautiful excursions to do in the Dubai desert.
4*4 desert
safari in Dubai
This day trip is Dubai's must-do
desert safari! Thanks to all the activities offered, this is, for me, the
complete desert excursion and the one that makes the most of a great day. To
start, you will be picked up directly from any hotel in Dubai, no matter where
you choose to sleep during your stay in Dubai. And you will, of course, be
brought back at the end of the day.
A 4*4 Land Rover will then drive you
in the Dubai desert known for its magnificent red dunes, an incredible
landscape where you can take great photos. Thrills will also be on the program
since the driver (or your pilot) will introduce you to dune bashing, a series
of skids and accelerations in the sand where you better hang on tight!
You can then do several descents of
the dunes on a sandboard (like a snowboard but desert version!) and a camel
ride. You will be taken to the Bedouin camp of Al Khayma to enjoy a barbecue
served as an all-you-can-eat buffet. Demonstrations of traditional dances/songs
animate the meal, and you can also take the opportunity to smoke shisha or get
a henna tattoo.
Quad biking
desert tour in Dubai
For the slightly sportier version, I
advise you to take a quad outing in the Dubai desert. Here too, you will be
picked up directly in front of your hotel and driven in a 4*4 to the gates of
the Lahbab desert, at the exit of the city.
You then get on your 4-wheeled
machine to cross the desert during a 45-minute quad excursion in the red dunes.
After that, you'll have time to take lots of great photos and test your sense
of balance as you slide down the dunes on your sandboard.
Your guide will then take you to the
camp, where a good barbecue buffet awaits you. The Bedouin camp offers several
free activities: camel rides, dances, songs, henna tattoos, shisha.
Dubai Desert
Buggy Tour
This excursion to Dubai in the
desert uses the same principle as the quad outing, but the ride in the dunes is
done by buggy. Unlike the 4*4 excursion, you drive your buggy. On the other
hand, you will have the choice of the duration:
·
A 4-hour
excursion with a 50-minute buggy ride in the desert + sandboarding +
complimentary refreshments
·
A 6-hour
excursion with buggy + sandboard descent + camel ride + barbecue dinner and
activities at the Bedouin camp.
4. Dubai Desert
Overnight Tour
Rather than returning to your hotel
after your excursion, why not extend this great day by sleeping in the desert?
This unique experience in Dubai is possible with the outing that I have
selected for you and which includes:
·
Transfer from
Dubai to Lahbab Desert
·
4*4 ride in the
dunes with dune bashing to fill up on sensations
·
Sandboard
descent
·
Photos at
sunset
·
Barbecue dinner
at Al Khayma camp and entertainment.
After your dinner, you will have the
right to a short night digestive walk in the desert with a guide, and you will
then spend the night under a Bedouin tent equipped with comfortable beds.
In the early morning, you will have
the opportunity to go for a camel ride in the desert before enjoying an
excellent typical breakfast and being driven back to your hotel.
Fly over the
Dubai desert in a hot air balloon:
For another unique experience to do
in the Dubai Desert Safari, I
recommend choosing a hot air balloon flight! Fly for 1 hour and watch the
sunrise over the Dubai desert dunes, a truly magical and unforgettable sight.
And to make the experience even more
exceptional, you will attend a falconry demonstration in full flight by master
falconers who are experts in the field. It is awe-inspiring to see the birds so
close. To top it off, once back on dry land, you'll be served a deluxe
breakfast with a fruit platter, smoked salmon, and caviar.
Thanks for sharing such a nice article and the pictures you attached with your blog make it more attractive and amazing. I appreciate your efforts spent in writing this blog. I also like to visit Dubai Deserts and I wish to have whole week free to get Dubai Desert Tourism Exposure.
